Located at Sahid Hotel Surabaya, hundreds of students with colorful coats seemed to be crowded the hall where the meeting of Dentistry Student Senate of Indonesia. This student group is incorporated in a cross-senate FKG organization throughout Indonesia called PSMKGI (Persatuan Senat Mahasiswa Kedokteran Gigi Indonesia). The event, entitled Leadership Training and Managerial for Dental Student (LKMM-Nas) PSMKGI, is the official annual event of the organization that was established since October 15, 1989 in the city of Yogyakarta.
The event with the slogan “Ira Yudha Wicaksono, Ing ngarsa sung tuladha” this time presents Dr. Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T, Mayor of Surabaya as one of the speakers of Studium Generale.
“The resource persons that we present on this occasion are the result of the study at the time of the previous National Conference of PSMKGI. In this study, FKG Unair had the opportunity to become the organizer of the year 2018, so we had a great opportunity to invite Mrs. Risma as the inspiration of leadership in this event, “said Aulia as Event Coordinator.
The presence of number one person in Surabaya, Dr. Ir. Tri Rismaharini, M.T indeed has been eagerly awaited by the students because of her brilliance of leading the city of Surabaya. The students seemed never tired of shouting chants when welcoming the arrival of “The Mother of Surabaya Citizens”.
“I am telling all the youths here, courage is the key to the development of an innovation, the idea will work if courage becomes the basis”, Risma sending a message to all students in the discussion session.
In line with the topic that she brought, namely “Government Policy and Student Role in the Realization of Healthy Indonesian”, the Mayor of Surabaya also explained some of Surabaya’s success in serving the health needs of its citizens. One of the many examples that Risma describes is the concept of e-health. “E-Health idea originally appeared when I went directly to the health center then found a long queue at the counter, now e-Health not only solve the problem queue but also as a solution to medical recordings” Risma notes.
“All these innovations bring many challenges, and should be greeted with the answer of courage to move forward!” Risma exclaimed and accompanied by the boisterous applause of the students of Dentistry participants LKMM-Nas 2018.
In addition to the Mayor of Surabaya, was present as a resource person: Gamal Albinsaid, MD., M. Biomed (recipient of the first award of the Sustainable Living Young Entrepreneurs Awards, in the UK in early 2014 submitted directly by Prince Charles), and drg. Agus Suprapto, M.Kes (Head of Puslitbang Public Health Effort, Ministry of Health RI).
