The International Symposium “Oral Health Education Management for Children In The Digital Era”, was held at Saturday, 11th of August 2018 at Kahuripan Hall, Rectorate Building of Airlangga University. There are 230 participants in this symposium, with lectures from Prof. Katsuyaki Kozai, DDS., Ph.D from Pediatric Dentistry Hiroshima University, Dr. Talat Al-Gunaid, DDS., Ph.D from Taibah University, drg. Niekle Survia Andiesta, and Dr. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes as the Dean of Faculty of Dental Medicine Airlangga University. Not only lectures, there was also poster presentations
The symposium started with speech from Gilang Rasuna Sabdho Wening, drg., M.Kes as the chairman of this symposium. This is one of three symposium that will be held, the other two at October and November 2018. Dr. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes, also gave a speech on this event. In his speech he said that in this digital era, people can access information easily, that’s why Faculty of Dental Medicine Airlangga University eager to held this symposium to share information and support this university as a research-based university.
The lecture started from Prof. Katsuyaki Kozai, DDS., Ph.d about “Prevention from Dental Caries in Japanese Children. Followed by a lecture from Dr. Talat Al-Gunaid, DDS., Ph.D about “Single or Two-Phase Orthodontics Treatment”, and the third one was from drg. Niekla Survia Andiesta, titled “Cost Effectiveness Analysis Comparing Dental Home Visits & Educational Leaflets in Caries Prevention Among Preschool Children”. The last lecture came from Dr. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes about “Dental Caries Prevention in 4.0 Industrial Revolution Era”.
We hope that this series of symposium will bring a good influence and impact to Airlangga University especially Faculty of Dental Medicine, and produce a significant enhancement of knowledge for the academic community.
