STOVIT AWARD is an annual event held by the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Airlangga University. Before it named “STOVIT AWARD”, this event was known as “FKG AWARD”. But to make this event for familiar, the word “STOVIT” was used because of the historical meaning behind it.
The event was held at 1st December at Wyndham Hotel, started at 18.00. It was opened by welcome speech from The Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes. In his speech, he explained about the nominations of the award, and how this award become an appreciation form to all of the lectures, staffs, and students for their hard work this year.
Mr. Pulung, as a Master of Ceremony make this event more cheerful because of his gimmicks and jokes. The event continued with dinner and the performance of OCCLUSTIK, a band that consists of students from Occlusal 2015. Stovit Saman Squad, a saman dance group from the faculty also gave a beautiful performance as always.
One of the most interesting thing at the event was a video show contains with a testimonies from several students about thir impression, stories, and what they get during their study here. Some of them said that they get a lot of new experience here, while the others also tell their inputs for the better education system in Faculty of Medicine Universitas Airlangga. The video catches the attention of audience for a moment and it was one of the highlights from that night.
Another moment that people been waiting for was the STOVIT AWARD’s awardee announcement. There was many nominations given for lectures, staffs, and also students. Including Best Publication for Lecturer, Best Publication for Assistant Lecturer, Best Staff, The Most Outastanding Student, Best Department Award, Best Study Program Award, and other nominations. The Best Publication won by Dr. Taufan Bramantoro, drg., M.Kes. as the first winner.
To close the night, there was an announcement of the main door prize winner, who’s lucky enough to get a new motorcycle. There was also a performance from stand up comedian group “Lawak Abioso” and collaboration performance from lecturers and students singing “Rumah Kita”. Hopefully this event can be a trigger to the others to always do the best for the faculty.
