Starting from Wednesday, 23rd of May until Friday, 25th of May “Stovit On Thankful Ramadhan” or more known as SOTR was held at Faculty of Dental Medicine, Universitas Airlangga. This is an annual event that held every Ramadhan, and of course it tones up the atmosphere of Ramadhan itself at campus. There are some series of events such as contests, entrepreneurship training for orphans, elementary dental education at orphanage, and the main event is breaking the fast together at campus.
This main event was held at the last day of SOTR. This time, not only students, lectures, and staffs that was attending the event. But also some alumnis from different generations, all of them was gathered at fast-breaking event yesterday. It was a rare and interesting view because we can’t see this kind of view on daily basis.
As Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rubianto, drg., M.S., Sp.Perio(K) as one of the lecturer who attended this event said, “this event (Stovit On Thankful Ramadhan), is a good and valuable event, and need to be held every year. But we also have to think about the feedback to the students, lectures, and all of the part of this campus. I hope that this can be improved each year, so the atmosphere of Ramadhan can be more vibrant”.
The main event also liven up by the appearance of Stovit Saman Squad, awarding for the champion of SOTR’s contest, and tarawih prayers. The atmosphere more vibrant because of the decoration that was prepared by the committee a week before the event.
“Overall, this year’s SOTR is more structured than before, as we can see from the preparation and today’s event itself. Even more, this year’s contests are more variable, and we also give a training about entrepreneurship to the orphans, so we can give them a little knowledge that they can use when they go home”, said the dean, Dr. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes
