UNAIR NEWS – A total of 28 dentists from Airlangga University’s Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) (UNAIR) have just graduated and were sworn in on Tuesday (06/25/19). The dentist taking oath in June 2019 took place at the Graha BIK IPTEK building, Faculty of Medicine (FK), UNAIR. Of the 28 dentists who were sworn in, two of them were students from Malaysia and the Philippines.
The two students were Nik Andriena Binti Nik Abdullah from Malaysia, and Christian Oliver Wijaya from the Philippines.
In the dentist’s oath, FKG and UNAIR ranks were also present. Among them is the FKG Dean Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes, Director of UNAIR Dental and Oral Hospital, and UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT., Ak., CMA. On the same occasion, also attended the ranks of Hiroshima University, which is currently collaborating with FKG UNAIR in developing Human Resources (HR).
In his remarks, Dr. Darmawan Setijanto revealed that FKG UNAIR and Hiroshima University have long collaborated in developing human resources to improve UNAIR’s ranking towards 500 worlds.
“The collaboration between UNAIR and Hiroshima University has been around for quite a long time, around 33 years. The collaboration includes improving the quality of FKG students and employees, “said Dr. Darmawan.
In addition, the FKG Dean also revealed that some dentists who were sworn in were the product of collaboration with Hiroshima University through various programs in the FKG.
“The results of our collaboration with Hiroshima University include short courses to college scholarships from the Japanese Government. Among them dentists were sworn in today, “he added.
At the end of his remarks, Darmawan stated that some dentists in Indonesia are in the western part of Indonesia. It is a challenge for new dentists to serve other parts of Indonesia.
“Most dentists in Indonesia are currently based in the western part of Indonesia. This is a challenge for you (new dentist, Red) to vent yourself into the central and eastern Indonesia, “he added.
Meanwhile, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE, MT., Ak., CMA said that after being a dentist and being sheltered by a profession, teamwork was a must. This is to achieve the goal of improving public health. “After this, while in a dental profession, teamwork is a must. Because when speaking of a profession it cannot work individually, but it must be together in order to achieve a goal of increasing public health, “said Prof. Thank you. (*)
