Acknowledgement

The Faculty of Dental Medicine at Universitas Airlangga provides a program that  designed for dentists who have already obtained their dental degree and wish to have Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics. The programs aim to enhance students’ knowledge of both theory and clinical aspect of orthodontic and dentofacial orthopaedic, as well as to emphasis their innovative and independent research skills.

The Orthodontic Specialist Program engages a comprehensive research, which encompassing fundamental and applied research to keep up with advances technology and global competition. The research roadmap of this program, including the application of herbal medicine in orthodontics, the genetic mapping in orthodontics, innovation of orthodontics diagnostic software, surgical and non-surgical orthodontic treatments, orthodontic epidemiology, and stem cell applications for regenerative orthodontics. In addition, this program actively contributes in community service activities including orthondontic prevention, orthodontic preservation, and orthodontic rehabilitation. These activities are routinely held twice a year and attended by all departments member (staff and student).

Furthermore, this program has been accredited by Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH), validating its adherence to high standards of education and training. This accreditation provides prospective students with the assurance of a top-tier education and valuable clinical experience.
