Faculty of Dental Medicine, Universitas Airlangga, is the oldest dental faculty in Indonesia, located in the capital city of East Java province, the second largest city in Indonesia. Under the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Universitas Airlangga, the Research-based Doctoral Study Program in Dental Science was established in 2017 and opened new student admission for the first time in 2018. The Research-based Doctoral Study Program in Dental Science at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Universitas Airlangga, was established as one of the efforts to contribute to meeting the demands of the current era of globalization. Globalization impacts global competition and the development of the world of science, including science and technology in dentistry. 

Our doctoral study program is designed not only to produce doctors who are experts and great inventors but also to produce doctors who are intelligent, knowledgeable, & wise. Our doctoral study program has produced reliable doctoral graduates in leading and organizing research, uncovering new findings, or creating new nterdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, & transdisciplinary theories. 

The doctoral research in our study program is expected to create new findings to strengthen national innovation and competitiveness. The doctoral research is directed to produce intellectual property rights, patents, and downstream. The results of the doctoral research are expected to broadly impact the advancement of science and the welfare of the national and international community.

Forming realiable human resources in producing graduates who reliable in conducting innovative new research based on Omics technology in the field of dentistry for benefit of the nation in the national and international regions based on religious morals.

Our Mission:

1. 1. Organizing education based on regenerative dentistry research: genomic, proteomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic as excellence. Organizing research-based clinical practice and evidence-based research.
2. 2. Organizing research-based education on dental public health & primary health care. Conducting national and international collaborative research that is useful for the broader community in supporting technology-based health development.
3. 3. Organizing the dissemination of research results nationally and internationally to improve the dental and oral health of the community.
